The Prime Minister has proclaimed May 10 as ‘Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq’ to commemorate the triumph of the operation

On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that May 10 will be recognized every year as ‘Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq’ to celebrate the “remarkable success” of ‘Operation Bunyanum Marsoos’ and to show national unity, as reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan.

Prime Minister, in his national address, emphasized that this day will be celebrated across the country with enthusiasm and pride, honoring the extraordinary courage and professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces. “The skills of our brave forces have kept our heads held high with pride,” he stated.

He also declared that Friday will be a special day of tribute and gratitude. On this day, the nation will pay homage to the Armed Forces’ achievements on the defense front and express thanks to Allah. Special prayers will be held nationwide as part of Youm-e-Tashakur, seeking progress for the country and the well-being of its citizens, he added.

Additionally, Premier Sharif introduced a detailed support and compensation package for the victims of Indian aggression. He mentioned that families of Pakistani civilians who lost their lives during Marka-e-Haq will receive Rs10 million in compensation, while those injured will be compensated with amounts ranging from Rs1 million to Rs2 million.

For the families of the brave personnel who lost their lives in the Pakistan Armed Forces, the government is set to provide compensation that ranges from Rs10 million to Rs18 million, depending on the rank of the martyr. On top of that, between Rs19 million and Rs42 million will be allocated to help secure housing for the martyrs’ heirs. The government has also pledged to continue paying the full salary, including allowances, of martyred soldiers right up until their scheduled retirement date.

The Prime Minister further announced that the children of these fallen soldiers will have access to free education all the way through to graduation. Additionally, every daughter of a martyred serviceman will receive a marriage grant of Rs1 million. For injured military personnel, compensation will range from Rs2 million to Rs5 million, depending on the severity of their injuries.

He also mentioned that the federal government will take steps to rebuild homes and mosques that were damaged in the Indian attacks. All medical expenses for the injured will be fully covered by the government, he added.

“It’s our duty to care for the children of martyrs, and we are committed to fulfilling this responsibility,” the Prime Minister stated.
He stressed that everyone who has served to protect Pakistan’s honor and defense will be recognized at a national level and honored with awards.
