PANTENE HUM BRIDAL COUTURE WEEK 2018 – DAY 1

Lahore, December 7, 2018: The 16th edition of the country’s biggest and most sought-after bridal extravaganza, Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week (PHBCW) rolled its red carpet here in the Mughal City of Gardens on December 7, 2018. Organized under the banner of Pakistan’s numero uno general entertainment network, HUM Network Limited, the three-day show presented its latest and the best of Pakistani bridal trends by leading and burgeoning fashion designers and retail brands.

SocioOn team was also there covering the event. Over the years, PHBCW has not only been presenting latest bridal collections and trends by the established designers, it has also been encouraging emerging designers to showcase their skills on a mega platform. This year, PHBCW will be debuting four emerging bridal designers on the runway.

Show Highlights

The show kicked off with a special Pantene Hair Show. Outfits for the segment were designed by Natasha Kamal and styling was done by Mehek Saeed. Highlight of the segment was live performance by Zoe Viccaji. The hair show was followed by a classic showcase by Nilofer Shahid titled Badshah Begum, a tribute to the legendary Mughal Empress Nur Jahan. Designer Aisha Imran was next to present her collection Daastan-e-Ishq on the runway. Her collection was reminiscent of the glory and grandeur of the Mughal era. Inspired by the grandeur of the Mughal era and its opulence, designer Emraan Rajput presented his collection Surkhab, followed by Reema Ahsan’s Dastaan.

Show one was concluded by Tabassum Mughal with her artistic collection Romantic Musings. Show two of PHBCW started with the Classic 1.0 presented by Arsalan Iqbal, which was followed by Ansab Jahangir’s Dilara. Faiza Saqlain was next, presenting her collection Shehnai on the runway. Day one of the three-day fashion show concluded with Sahar Atif’s latest bridal collection titled Mah-e-Nau, a poetic ballad of majestic textiles, embroideries and motifs.

Show Stoppers

Day one of the three-day bridal extravaganza had an amazing line-up of celebrities to showstop for the designers; the stunning Mawra Hocane and QYT showstopped for Nilofer Shahid whereas the gorgeous Mansha Pasha and Sumbul Iqbal added allure to Aisha Imran’s collection. Bilal Abbas Khan walked for Emran Rajput and the stunning Hareem Farooq showstopped for Reema Ahsan. The Aangan stars Sonya Hussyn and Ahsan Khan along with Gohar Rasheed and Kubra Khan added grandeur to Tabassum Mughal’s collection whereas Shahzad Nawaz and Omar Shahzad walked the ramp for Arsalan Iqbal. The dynamic mother-daughter duo Bushra Ansari and Meera Ansari showstopped for Ansab Jahangir, and last but not least, the stunning Aizza Khan added allure to Faiza Saqlain’s collection. The audiences were also treated with a surprise visit by professionnal international wrestlers including Tiny Iron from the UK, Yacine Osmani from Algeria, Bernard Vandame from Belgium, Mila Smidt from France, KC Spinelli from Canada, Pakistan’s only professional wrestler and current ROP World Champion Baadshah Pehalwan Khan, Red Scorpion from Italy, Adam Benseba from Algeria along with the organizer of the championship Mr Imran Shah. All these wrestlers will be participating in the “Ring of Pakistan” wrestling championship scheduled for December 9, 2018 in Lahore.

Red Carpet

Lahore, December 8, 2018: After the glamorous showcase on day one, day two of the bridal extravaganza was a continuation of the glitz and bridal statements with the country’s acclaimed couturiers, bridal wear designers and retail brands. As always PHBCW left its audience stunned with its majestic stage, with the detailing of motifs on the catwalk, uniquely set for a one of kind fashion show.

The 2nd day showcased a fantastic line up of designers starting with Ziggi Menswear’s Burda, followed by Aisha Sadya Design House’s Jewels of Secret Garden. Faika Karim was next to present her collection titled Lisbon. Show one of the day concluded with retail brand Royal Tag’s Winter Stories 18-19. Show two of day two started with acclaimed couturier Umsha by Uzma Babar’s MuhabbatNaama. Everthine by Samar presented her collection Aashna, which was followed by Haris Shakeel’s Khwabeeda.

Show Stoppers

Day two of the bridal extravaganza concluded with MNR Design Studio’s Heer. His collection redefined the beauty of heritage with a modern touch. Day 2 of PHBCW also had a star-studded line-up; the newly wed and the audiences favourite on and off screen couple Aiman Khan and Muneeb Butt added grandeur to Ayesha Sadya Design House’s collection while couterier Faika Karim brought the cast of Pinky  Memsaab, Kiran Malik and Hajra Yamin on the ramp to walk for the brand. The handsome Faisal Qureshi showstopped for retail brand Royal Tag, whereas the superstar Saba Qamar, the social media sensation Zaid Ali T and his wife Yumna Ali T added allure to Umsha by Uzma Baber’s collection. The gorgeous Urwa Hocane showstopped for Everthine by Samar and the stunning Hira Mani walked the ramp for Haris Shakeel. Last but not least, the evergreen Reema Khan showstopped for MNR Design Studio.

Lahore, December 9, 2018: Pakistan’s biggest bridal extravaganza Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week 2018 by HUM Network Limited concluded on the high notes of glamour, brilliance, quality fashion and latest bridal trends. Day 3 witnessed high end celebrities on the ramp as the showstoppers for the country’s top and growing designers.

 

Show Highlights

Show one of the concluding day of PHBCW started with designer duo Nickia Nina’s collection Catalina, inspired by the rich architectural and colourful culture of Cuba, which was followed by Annus Abrar’s Quos-o-Qazahh. Murtaza Hussain was next to present his collection Meer. Show one of day three was concluded by Ahsan Menswear, who presented their latest collection based on rich hand loom heavy fabrics. Show two of the last day started with Mehdi’s Garden of Eve bridal/couture collection 2018/19 which was followed by Munib Nawaz’s Farz Karo. A tribute to the satirical imaginary world of Ibn-e-Insha, his collection was an adventure in the wacky and wonderful world created by Munib Nawaz. The three-day bridal extravaganza concluded on a high note with the couture king HSY’s Shah. The King of Couture brought his #HSYxHarrisTweedHebrides collaboration to PHBCW 2018. The collection stayed true to HSY’s design ethos by merging eastern influences into western silhouettes to create a one of a kind couture collection for the festive season.

Show Finale

The concluding day of PHBCW brought high-end celebrities to the runway as showstoppers; the stunning Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain walked the ramp for designer duo Nicke Nina, and as the charming Neelum Muneer showstopped for Annus Abrar. Munib Nawaz brought the Parwaaz Hai Junoon star, Hania Amir and singing sensation Asim Azhar on the ramp while Zeb Bangash performed for the brand. Last but not least, the gorgeous Mawra Hocane added grandeur to the Couture King HSY’s collection.
