Pakistan Railways Proclaims Ramadan Schedule

During the sacred month of Ramadan, Pakistan Railways has published fresh operating hours for reservation offices across the country.

The early shift will start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m; the evening shift is from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.pm, according to a Friday notice.

Juma prayers will have a break from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM on Fridays.

Reservation offices running on a one shift basis will keep their current openings.

After the fifteenth of Ramadan, upon when all offices will return to their normal times, these revised times will stay in force. This change seeks to facilitate passengers and employees throughout the fasting month as well as guarantee an uneventful performance.

Pakistan Railways stops Sir Syed Express and starts Shah Hussain Express.

According to ARY News, Pakistan Railways has separately halted the Sir Syed Express after the private company running the train stopped its operations for financial reasons. Outsourced to the private sector is the train running between Karachi and Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile Pakistan Railways has restarted the Shah Hussain Express service between Lahore and Karachi, hence providing much needed respite to passengers.

The train left Karachi Cantonment Station at 7:30 PM and was supposed to arrive Lahore around 2:15 PM, stopping at major cities including Hyderabad, Rohri, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Khanewal, and Faisalabad.

The return trip will start at 7:00 PM leaving Lahore and end in Karachi at 2:05with the train.
Power plant, brake van, two air conditioner standard-class cars, two AC business class cars, and ten economy-class coaches can be found on the Shah Hussain Express.
