Maryam Nawaz, CM: Punjab to Host Pakistan’s First Artificial Intelligence University

Punjab is on the verge of establishing Pakistan’s very first artificial intelligence robotics, and machine learning or other scientific universities, which was a newfound declaration by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday while inaugurating a laptop distribution scheme at Faisalabad.

The Chief Minister said that while modern education is needed to meet the global standards of competition, “Our students must not lag behind and should excel in every field”.

New Initiatives for Student Empowerment
CM Maryam Nawaz announced introducing a student loan program up to Rs. 30 million for education, part-time jobs, or business activities. Free land will also be given to students to help start their business, encouraging them to become productive citizens.

Expansion of Laptop Scheme and Scholarships
The provincial government has significant plans in the offing to expand the present laptop distribution program. This year, 30,000 laptops would be distributed, but under the increased budget allocation, this number will rise to 50,000 next year. CM Maryam Nawaz announced that the scheme would further grow to distribute 100,000 laptops to students scoring above 65% in public universities and colleges. Scholarships for student beneficiaries will be set up for their third and fourth years of study.
