The last century has seen the transformation of technology from primitive and rudimentary to progression over time.
Messages carried on horseback and pigeon, transformed from morse code to telephone, telephones became smartphones, and messages on pigeon entered the era of SMS graduating to Whatsapp and other messenger apps.
The song, “Video Killed the Radio Star” is a true description of how TV and video and the visuals which they carried annihilated the radio, similar to the demise of Postal Services.
Social Media has taken mainstream media head-on, for many reasons. Mainstream media was one-way traffic designed to control the minds of the viewer, a highly potent influencing mechanism, set in place by those who wanted to control people. Social Media on the other hand is a two-way traffic having the ability to receive feedback from anyone and everyone.
Mainstream media was dictatorial, while social media is dialog oriented, providing an opportunity for others to be heard as well.
Mainstream media tied the recipient to a chair in the living room, while social media is carried everywhere even on the streets and while moving remotely.
These two features leads to social media giving it higher mileage and convenience for the masses.
Technology has come a very long way making old gadgets and systems obsolete at a remarkably fast pace. This has been so rapid that today’s technology is obsolete the next day. Development is uncontrollable and at an extremely fast rate.
This fast-paced evolution has transformed the generation and shall continue to do so in the future. the baseline and target being convenience it has to offer to the masses. Nokia the pioneer in cellular technology is so yesterday, simply because it failed to foresee and keep at pace with the likes of Apple, Samsung, and their likes. The world has become a fierce cut-throat market and those who fail to upgrade seen the darkness of oblivion.
Facebook the favorite of social media is facing competition from others like socioon, which started as a local social app graduating to the international landscape. Facebook is a western platform free to censor or promote its agenda dictated by a special interest group. Voices from the other side of the fence are restricted and curbed according to the whims and fancy of their masters. This realization is still not fully understood among those who are in the corridors of power. Wars are fought on fifth or even sixth generation levels.
Socioon is a portal that brings about the point of view of those who are ignored and sidelined by western-influenced media houses. Socioon is the voice from the other side of the fence, providing a platform for the underrepresented to be heard.
Not to be branded as a purely Islamic portal, but presenting both the sides of the picture in a true and correct perspective from people who use this platform to express their views. Conforming to the basic norms and ethics where violence, hate speech, abuses are curtailed, and curbed Socioon provides a non-partisan approach to knowledge, information, and social interaction.
Facebook has been promoted by the establishment to spy upon its subject and heavily funded in this regard. Socioon on the other hand is devoid of such mischievous schemes respecting the privacy and integrity of its users.
Is it not high time that respected government in Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and China stand behind this platform o counter the influence of western-oriented influencers.
Socioon is the voice of the east and if promoted will act as a counter-narrative enabling us to win the propaganda war waged against us.
China can help in winning the hearts and minds of the local populace in all regional languages that will be made available on the socioon platform.
If America can constitute the voice of America, why should we not play our active part in raising the voice of Asia.
It’s time to take effective measures now before this voice is silenced forever.
