Islamabad Residents Got Up on yet Another Freezing Day

The 21st of December 2024 was the day when the Meteorological Department registered freezing conditions all over Pakistan. At the time of the reading, Islamabad was almost freezing with a minimum temperature of 0°C.

The Mercury has fallen beyond all limits, making the dwellers tightly cover their bodies to fight the snow and frost, the Meteorological Department, however, is of the opinion that the current cold spell will prolong at least during the days ahead.

While large parts of the country experienced sub-zero temperatures, Leh was declared as the area with the most freezing temperatures while the thermometer showed -13°C. Skardu was just one grade warmer with its -11°C, although it was also almost freezing. Gupis was the third key location and it showed -9°C as its minimum temperature. Peshawar recorded the temperature of -1°C, but the weather had drastically cooled down.

In bigger towns, Karachi registered the lowest temperature of 9°C, and Lahore was at the very cool 4°C. Quetta was the lowest with -5°C. Muzaffarabad’s record was identical to Islamabad’s.

The weather department encouraged the residents to take precautions against the impending low temperatures as well as prepare themselves as to the chilling nights that are expected to prevail on some days.

The department of temperatures has alerted people to take precautions, the first line of defense in the cold regions. It is expected at least a few of the frost nights that the temperatures will dip.
