Hundreds of thousands of wheat bags pilfered from Sindh Government warehouses

Where over 170,000 wheat bags have supposedly gone vanished from government storage facilities in Sindh, a major scandal has arisen. The Sindh Food Department has issued show cause letters to four food supervisors believed to have taken part in the vanishing in reply.

Supervisors Who Are Being Investigated
Dawn News says that the Sindh Food Department has issued notices to the subsequent food managers:

  • Accused of misplacing 1,926 bags, Nisar Mirjat (Larkana)
  • Zulfiqar Ali Noonari – reportedly accountable for 7,041 disappeared bags.
  • Muhammad Sharif Bhutto, believed to have expelled 154,813 bags
  • Ayaz Ali Mashori is alleged to have appropriating 6,402 bags.

Strict Measures if No Reason Is Given
14 days are provided for the accused officials to present a written justification. Should their answers be considered inadequate, a last showcause letter will be sent and they will be fired.

This example raises significant questions on government food storage facilities’ corruption and mismanagement, therefore sparking demands for more careful oversight and responsibility.
