Suspect Arrested in Mianwali After Body Found in PTI Leader Aslam Iqbal’s Lahore Outhouse
Lahore police have arrested a suspect in Mianwali after discovering a man’s body in the servant quarters of an outhouse owned by PTI leader Mian Aslam Iqbal.
Body Discovered in Lahore Outhouse
A day after the body was found, Lahore’s Samanabad police were informed and recovered it. Following the recovery, they filed a case against an unknown suspect.
Suspect Identified and Apprehended
Today, DIG Faisal Kamran of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) confirmed the arrest of Constable Arshad, the prime suspect, in Mianwali.
Sources revealed that Arshad, a CIA officer, had been living in the servant quarters, which he had rented through a real estate agent.
Investigation Findings
Authorities discovered that Arshad had not been reporting to his office for the past month and was unreachable. Police continued their search until they tracked him down.
In his statement, DIG Kamran confirmed that Arshad had leased the servant quarters in Aslam Iqbal’s outhouse. He added that the suspect confessed to the murder and admitted to disposing of the weapon in a river.
Further investigation revealed that Arshad had hidden at his sister’s house in Mianwali after the crime.
PTI Leader Mian Aslam Iqbal’s Background
Mian Aslam Iqbal, a former Punjab minister, has been active in politics for over two decades. He was elected as an MPA in 2002 and remained a key PTI figure.
Following the 2024 general elections, PTI nominated him as their candidate for chief minister. However, he did not take the oath due to fears of arrest by Punjab police. Instead, Rana Aftab Ahmed replaced him but lost to PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz.
Iqbal was also among the PTI leaders declared proclaimed offenders in the May 9 Jinnah House attack case.

- In Clifton, Karachi, a missing Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre employee, who also worked as a real estate agent, was found dead.
