Punjab Declares School Winter Vacation

Winter vacations for schools have been declared by the Punjab Government. The vacations will begin on December 20, 2024, and will continue until January 10, 2025; thus, schools will remain closed for exactly 20 days, for students and staff alike.

Secretary Khalid Nazir Wattoo conveyed that it is the right way to balance the academic calendar in the province, adding that these dates are true for all public and private schools in Punjab.
Parents should take a fun break from busy schedules for productive activities, quality family time, and teaching good habits for the cold.

Screen time should be minimized, and parents should be encouraged to engage in activities with children learning something, such as reading or skill development. Schools will then reopen on January 11, 2025, for the resumption of normal classes.

Teachers are expected to lay a lot of emphasis on the curriculum, preparing students for future examinations, and keeping them within their assignment limits. This will serve as a platform for resting for students, parents, and teachers before the start of a busy new year.
