Rizq Foundation organizes
Given the regularity of huge food wastage all around our country, three entrepreneurs from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Huzaifa Ahmed, Musa Aamir, Qasim Javaid Khan launched Rizq Foundation back in 2014, which is a movement against the reckless wastage of food. Their mission was to collect the hygienic surplus food from restaurants, households, wedding halls, and circulate it among the broken people of society. The project which initiated from a mere Facebook page has now extended to nearly all areas in Lahore.
This open mic was Rizq Foundation first attempt at community building and bringing the youth under one roof. The event started at 7:30 pm this Saturday evening at Rizq headquarters and lasted for more than two hours with a break for snacks, followed by a socializing time for everyone. The event featured 10 performers. Performances happened in all languages be it English, Urdu, or Punjabi and included all genres like poetry recitation, reading of philosophical essays, monologues, and songs. Each performer was given 5 to 7 minutes to show their talent. SocioON Pakistan first National Social media also participated in the event to support Pakistan’s young talent.
